travel diary of Cairns part 2
I woke up at 6 on April 7th.
I went to
Atherton Tableland which is World Heritage and
Paronella Park
The bus pick me up at 7:40
There was a Japanese girl in the bus
Actually I heard Japanese almost never join this tour and I applyed it, so I little bit felt down[:がく〜:]
After that the bus pick some people up at their hotels.
Almost all people were American and Chinese.
The people who sat next to me was American girl, and we made friends soon
First we went to
Lake Barrine!
On our way we got off the bus at nice view point and took some pictures.
Unfortunately there was shrouded in fog but air was really cool
When I was taking some pictures the Japanese girl talked to me.
She was a high school student who had homestayed and was going to go back to Japan the next day.
She worried about that there was the only one Japanese; me, and we spent time together after that
She was doing her best to be in communication with many foreigners although her English was not so good.
She moved me to action more
We had some scones and a cup of tea first at Lake Barrine
They looked so sweet but actually not so sweet and I liked them
And next we took a cruise there
The water was clear and I felt I can drink it!
I enjoyed it with a Japanese girl, a Chinese family and a British family.
There were many tortoises, many eels, many birds and many snakes there and we had a lot of highlights
We could look at huge
twin kauri pine around there, and I took many pictures
Of course a tour guide spoke in English, and I couldn't understand any animals' name and plants' name
But I had a good time!
After that we took long walks in the tropical rain forest
A tour guide talked about history of tropical rain forest and plants, so I also couldn't understand it this time, but I could feel nature enough!
The
Curtain Fig Tree was great!
I could feel mystery and greatness of nature again
And next we went to
Millaa Millaa Fall.
It was really wonderful!
I was at a loss for words
Fortunately the sky cleared up beautifully, and the scenery was marvelous
A lot of
ulysseses which it's said that you'll be happy if you can watch 3 times flew there, and I was very excited!
I tried to take a picture of it but a tour guide taught me that ulysses is the most fastest butterfly and usually flies a high place, so it's difficult.
・・・Of course I couldn't do it
But there were blue sky, white clouds, green tropical rain forest, red flowers, and ulysseses, it was really really beautiful
After that we had a lunch.
I ate roast beef with watching
Mungalli Fall
I ate it with a Japanese girl and a British family, and we taught them a Japanese word "OISHII"
After that we went to
Paronella Park
A tour guide told us that we can also have a Japanese guide, but we dared to try to have an English guide!
We could get a guidebook, and I got both of Japanese one and English one
Paronella Park is that it's said that it's a model of the Japanese movie "TENKUU NO SHIRO RAPYUTA".
It was built in the 1930s by Paronella who is Spanish and his dream while a child was that "I wanna have my own castle in the future!".
All of them were handmade, and we could watch marks which were put by him when he covered with concrete.
He also created the first hydroelectric power station in Queensland!
Dream is fantastic
On our way to Cairns, we went to the park.
There was a clean river and we played in the river, but suddenly it rained hard
We took shelter from the rain, but there weren't indications of a stopping it, so we went back to Cairns
After I went back to Cairns I bought some souvenirs.
I tasted honey, chocolate, tea, etc.
And I ate a crepe, too
I went to a crepe store whose treadmark was written by Ebisu-san; a cartoonist
It was massive!
I also went to
Mimco which has Aussie brand goods, and I talked with one of Aussie clerks who loves Japan very much for about 30 minutes
Oh, I also did my shopping, of course!
I bought a pouch
He'll come to Japan next year on his working holiday.
We also exchanged our e-mail addresses and we'll be able to meet in Japan next year
I had a simple dinner at food court.
No, actually I couldn't have a regular dinner because of a lot of eatings before dinner[:
After that I went back to my hotel by bus from DFS
I made many friends, was surrounded by beautiful views, and it was nice day

Cheer me on!
